Before the Appointment

•  Ensures your safety: We screen for contraindications, recent injuries, surgeries, medications, or conditions (like blood clots, fever, or contagious skin issues) that could make massage unsafe or need modification.

•  Matches the session to your exact goals: Telling me where you hold tension, your preferred pressure, problem areas, or whether you want pure relaxation vs. deep clinical work lets me customize pressure, techniques, and tools (hot stones, bamboo, cupping, etc.) from the first minute.

•  Sets realistic expectations: You’ll know exactly what the tier you chose includes, how long we’ll spend on each body area, and what results are achievable in one session.

•  Builds trust and comfort: Many clients (especially first-time or trauma-informed) feel nervous. A short conversation or intake form removes uncertainty and helps you feel heard and respected.

During the Appointment

•  Keeps you safe and comfortable in real time: If anything feels too deep, too light, too warm, or if a spot is sensitive, a quick word lets me adjust instantly—no guessing.

•  Allows on-the-fly customization: If a certain stroke feels amazing on your shoulders, I can give more time there. If something isn’t working, we shift immediately.

•  Protects sensitive or “no-go” zones: You stay in control of your body at all times.

•  Enhances relaxation: When you know you can speak up without awkwardness, you can truly let go.

After the Appointment

•  Gives you self-care instructions tailored to what we just did (stretching, hydration, heat/ice, activity modifications).

•  Lets me document what worked best so your next session is even better.

•  Catches any delayed soreness or questions while they’re fresh.

•  Reinforces the therapeutic relationship: A 30-second “How are you feeling?” check-in shows I genuinely care about your outcome.
